The 7th franchise of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was officially auctioned today, January 8, 2026, in Islamabad. The new team will be based in Hyderabad.

  • Official Name: The specific nickname (e.g., “Hyderabad Heroes” or “Hyderabad Hawks”) has not been formally unveiled yet. Per PCB rules, the winning bidder selects the name from a pre-approved pool of city/team combinations.
     

  • Winning Bidder: The FKS Group secured the ownership rights.
     

  • Winning Bid Amount: Rs. 175 Crore (PKR 1.75 Billion), which significantly exceeded the base price of Rs. 110 Crore.

  • Home Ground: Niaz Stadium, Hyderabad.

     League Expansion Context

This is part of the PSL’s expansion from 6 to 8 teams for the 2026 season. While the 7th team is confirmed for Hyderabad, the 8th team is expected to be finalized shortly, with cities like Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Gilgit among the top contenders.
